Can you really win against trolls?

I think we all know the impact trolls can have on us. The pain they cause by their words run deep. Sometimes you can brush it off to the side, but the seemingly never ending hate comments are impossible to stop. I believe one answer to the pain trolls cause is to avoid them. If you keep getting hurtful comments online and a bombardment of hate you shouldn't let it get to you. Out of sight out of mind. Sometimes this could work especially if you are thick skinned and don't allow what anonymous people say get to you. If it does persist and it makes you feel worse then maybe you should consider deleting and withdrawing from the situation. Blocking accounts and deleting comments can only go on for so long. It is shown that trolls are nearly impossible to stop.
Can you really win against trolls? If its know that you can't stop them then how do you fix the problem? I think what it comes down to is seeing that what these trolls are saying are just words. You can't let it get to you. You just need to believe in yourself and believe that these words are not the truth. Their words don't define you. You can't let others control you. Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will never hurt me.

  1. I totally agree with what you are saying. I think having tough skin is the only solution.

  2. I believe there is no winning against trolls but Like Bree said the only solution is to have tough skin and not let the words be hurtful. If social media is making you feel bad then it is important to just take yourself out of those situations.

  3. I honestly believe that if you can ignore bullies in real life, you should be able to ignore cyber bullies two times easier online.
