Where Does Most of the Trolling Take Place?

Even though Ms. Fletcher gave us permission to post about anything we wanted, I am very terrible at coming up with my own topic, and I don't really now what would be considered a good conversation starter.  So this is one last post to trolling.

People use the Internet and social media for many reasons, and some use it more than others.  I have said before in one of my posts, that I don't come across trolling as much as other people might. Now I know the main reason for that is due to the fact that I don't post stuff or reach out to talk to people. Communicating is not a big deal to me.  Most of the time spent on my laptop is wasted on YouTube or Netflix with the occasional essay being typed on Google docs.  Most of the trolling I see are from the comments in YouTube, and even those are usually random and harmless.  There might be some comments that are offensive, but I don't recall seeing any threatening ones.

I guess my question is where do you think the most extreme form of trolling takes place?  What websites or which social media allows for the most trolling?  In class we read about trolls who waste their time to target a single person.  They even go as far as making fake accounts to taunt their victims,  but I haven't seen that anywhere from my personal experience Also, on a semi-related note, do you think trolling is worse as people get more well known or famous?

  1. YouTube is a hard place to see hardcore trolling because there are so many comments and we usually don't go through all of them, but I have seen some pretty nasty one. I also see some on Instagram usually on more controversial topics like if someone posts a picture about gay rights or something of the sort. Blogs bring a lot of trolls. And as to your question about trolling getting worse as a person becomes famous, I believe it does get worse, but celebrities are also able to ignore it more because they are used to it.
