Trolls Are Just Bullies

I don't understand the Internet. Honestly, I don't think anyone truly does.  One of the things that I really do not understand is trolling. Why do people feel the need to ruin a random person's day? People say and do some horrible things on the Internet. It's easier when you don't have a face and can just talk a bunch of mess behind a keyboard, but just because it's easy does not mean you should do it. Trolling is really just another name for being a bully. A cyberbully in this case. You are putting a comment or post or video or a whatever to intentionally hurt someone or make them upset. By my standards, that is bullying. You need to figure something else to do in your free time. Start a journal, and put all your nasty thoughts in there instead of messing up someone's day. I don't know, but get a hobby. I honestly feel a little bad for trolls. There must be something broken or wrong with them that they feel the need to partake in these activities. I am not saying that all trolls have this horrible thing wrong with them either. They just a little guidance or a wake up call to show them that this is not a thing they should be doing.

On a side note, I feel like there are different levels of trolling. The very first level is like leaving a "JB sucks" comment on a Justin Bieber music video just to mess with the rapid fans girls and that's really not that bad. However, the highest level of posting racist, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic and all the other -ists and -phobics that may be out there comments to the Internet it start to become bullying and harassment.

So do you find that trolling seems to be an extension of cyberbullying? And do you agree with my different levels of trolling or do you feel like any sort of trolling is 100% wrong?

  1. I agree with you that trolling is an extension of cyberbullying completely. Also I do think those comments just to upset fans aren't super major trolling, but are just irritating to see in my opinion. I honestly just hate trolling.
