With that being said, it's also amazing to see the changes in technology throughout our lives. I still remember having a house phone attached to the wall and having to remember people's numbers. I still remember my mom having a Blackberry circa 2005 and thinking that it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen (she had Tetris!!). I still remember having to crank down the windows in our cars and having to take film to get processed at the Walgreens down the street.
Since then, it's only been about 10-15 years. Imagine the changes we'll see in the next ten. The next 20. The next 50. And when we're so old that the youngsters have to keep explaining how to copy/paste a holograph (or whatever the technology may be). Personally, I can't wait for what the future may bring. Do you guys miss the times without constant technology? Or are you looking forward to the advancements and embracing your technology centered life? Feel free to share any memories you may have of a time without technology or other changes you've encountered over the years.
Sometimes I think about a different life, one without the advanced technology that exists today. I think that with less technology people would most likely have more personal relationships because all of their interactions would be face to face rather than behind a computer screen or a cell phone screen. Although there is no doubt that technology has enriched our lives, I think that it takes away from our lives almost as much as it gives. I can almost guarantee that most teenagers only communicate with certain people through social media or by texting. It is strange and can be awkward to see them in person. Sometimes I wish that I could go back to a time before smart phones where phones were only used to determine when two people would get together rather than a way to distance ourselves from others.
