Final Thoughts on Food Industry

My mindset has not changed too much from what I initially thought of the food industry. I knew that the food industries are always hiding things and sweeping things under the rug. I think that this project has given me more insight on how corporations are able to get away with what they want. I don't think it changed too much on what I eat because I already know the effects of eating fast foods. I think the important thing is eating foods in moderation and having a balanced diet. Being physically active also helps. From the documentaries I've watched and articles I have researched I think that there is a cruelty in how animals are being treated at these factories. I think I will take more consideration in knowing where certain foods come from and how it got there. If I went back 4 years with this knowledge of the food industry, I don't think it would affect where or what I eat. Maybe I would cook more and eat healthier foods, but the only thing it would change is knowing what it took for the food to get on the table and my appreciation for the farmers that work hard to get it there. A way to change or influence the food industry is continuing to educate kids at an early age. If you start them young by teaching kids about eating a balanced diet, the basics of cooking, I think it could really change the culture of food. Its hard to take down these giant food industries because of their influence over the government and their wealth. I believe it will take time and slowly over generations the culture of food will change.

  1. That's very true, we have learned most of this stuff already from the news and schools. But it's always good to have what you know reaffirmed by other nifty things.

  2. I Agree with this because I knew they were hiding stuff and to watch the videos and see that they can do what they want is a eye opener.
