The Next Step

So far I haven't had any major issues when writing my paper or with finding sources and topics. My current topic is food waste and so far I have talked about food waste in American public schools which not surprisingly is a major form of food waste. Public schools have high levels of food waste since so many kids refuse to eat the gross looking substances that is school food and prefer to eat junk food that looks and tastes better. In my paper, I also discussed how food waste in public schools has a direct correlation to the lack of nutrients that kids are currently suffering from since they are refusing to eat the food that benefits their well-being and instead consume other less beneficial foods. I also talked about how there is a fault on both sides of food waste; in other words, both the students and the government who provides the food both play a part. One serves the odd food and the other refuses to eat the odd food. I feel that my essay lacks enough backing evidence and that can possibly be because I probably haven't done enough research. I hope to find sources that will help in writing my paper such as sources that show statistics on whether food waste has increased or decreased over the years. My essay may also fall short in its structure. After having it be reviewed by a peer, we noticed that my essay while having some good points, lacked an organization and it seemed almost as if ideas were jumping around. Should I first organize the way the essay is going to flow or should I do research first and then organize it?
