Wring with problems

Trying to tie politics with food as a basis for a research project is difficult, especially when it's suppose to be 5 to 7 pages long. Though there are many good topics to start off with like how the food industry, when not regulated by the government can harm the public, the real challenge lies in sticking to an idea while not going off in a tangent. It's easy to start writing about anything, but as I find myself slowly running out of ideas I begin start to writing nonsense to fill a word count quota. With another rough draft due on Wednesday I will probably be stuck trying to craft tediously long paragraphs. The research required for the project actually helps you to gather your thoughts but after reading a couple articles I was still short of the minimum standard. It’s a good thing that the rough draft is not graded on the quality but rather on whether it was turned in.
I was hoping to learn new things when I began my research but was shocked to the core when the articles that I’ve been reading were saying the same exact thing, just written differently. The subjects of GMO’s being bad for you and obesity as a manufactured diseases co created by the government and Burger King while McDonald's being most likely a patsy for the food industry so that the real culprit can operate without public scrutiny is what I would typically find in my google search. I'm starting to think that maybe I should rework my essay question to fit what I read rather than trying to find many sources for an answer. What do you think fellow students in Mrs. Fletcher's first period ERW class.

  1. I think you should find your essay question through your research because there are a lot of topics and articles but, its easier when you read something you find interesting and go from there.
